Pastors get asked the craziest questions. People are constantly coming to pastors to find out if they are still "okay with The Man Upstairs" if they engage in a certain behavior, say certain words, consume certain food/beverages/substances, go to certain places, etc...etc...etc. How do I know this? I'm a pastor. I get asked these questions. At times, I'd just like to shout at the top of my lungs, "Don't ask me! As your Father!"
Just like a child that always goes to the easy parent with the difficult request we always go to people to be absolved of crazy behavior instead of to the Father. Why? Because we already know the answer, that's why!

This was to free you from the powerful grip of the craziness and set you free to return to holiness. If you are actually seeking a way to intermingle the old sinful self with godliness, check again! This should not be so.
Don't ever ask your pastor, or another person, to justify-by-proxy things like:
Then, just be obedient.
