Brett D. Heintzman
Speaker, Pastor, Author, Worship Leader
“Serving God through teaching His Word is my
calling and my greatest joy. I have had the honor
to speak and teach at retreats, camps, conferences
and other events and see the hand of God touch and
transform lives. Seeing people realize their full
potential and calling in Christ is why I do this.”
Brett is the pastor of Jamestown Free Methodist Church in Jamestown, NY where he lives with his wife Barb. Together, they serve the National Prayer Ministry of the Free Methodist Church. Brett regularly blogs at his website, www.kingdomofshalom.com, and recently published his first book, “The Crossroads: Asking for the Ancient Paths.” He is available for speaking engagements, worship events, conferences, prayer retreats and more.
In ministry and in life, everyone finds themselves at a crossroads… What you do about it is what matters most.
“...to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12-13 NIV)
Spiritual crossroads are places of realization, observation, consideration and decision. They are critical moments to pause and observe where we have been in life and ministry, where we are going, why we are where we are, and how we got here. Am I on the less-preferred path for life and ministry? Is my life “busy” or “fruitful?” Through this observation and questioning our lives are ready for change and challenge. We then consider what must be done. What are the options and what are the ramifications of those options? The crossroads is not a place where we can stay. At some point, decisive action is required.
Equipping and encouraging the church is what Crossroads Ministries is all about. Through interactive teaching events, the Word of God is opened to give needed voice to those at the spiritual crossroads, helping them to see afresh the paths God desires, and to walk in those paths. The promise is rest for our souls. Spiritual rest is experienced when we are close to God, abiding in Christ, continually obedient, fully serving within our calling, and have our eyes fixed on Jesus.
